Description

Mardi Gras Metal Flake

A proprietary blend of metal flake that’s MADE IN USA. We made this blend to our high specifications to get you wild Lakers colors with ultimate coverage & supreme bling. Our brand of metal flake is unlike any other, as it’s thinner & brighter than the rest. Mardi Gras metal flake is precision cut from highly reflective foil which has been clear coated with a transparent coating. Mardi Gras can withstand temperatures up to 375° without loss of color or reflectivity. This makes it perfect for paint, nail polishes or even powder coating. This temperature endurance, as well as Mardi Gras’ solvent and fade resistance makes it the perfect flake for your project, regardless of the industry.

Mixing

Mix 1 8th into a reduced quart of Triple C Intercoat for best results. Leaving the flake flat and ready to be buried in Wetness clear.

FAQs

FAQs

Can you put metal flake in base coat?
You can, but it is not advised. If you're not using a .002" or .004" metal flake then you're going to create an issue where the base coat is very textured (orange peel). Since base coat is opaque (unable to see through), you're going to end up with metal flake that is hidden by the base coat. For maximum impact, it is best to spray metal flake over your base coat, before your clear.
Can you put metal flake in clear coat?
Yes you can. You just have to be more careful as you can run clear coat easier than you can run intercoat clear.
