Application Guidelines:

  1. Apply color basecoat per manufacturer’s recommendations.
  2. Apply 2 wet coats of Wetness 3140 with 3–5 minutes flash between coats.
  3. Use 1.2mm–1.4mm tip at 8–10 psi (HVLP) or 40–45 psi (conventional).

Wetness 3140 Speed Clear is a premium 2K clear coat engineered for speed, clarity, and long-lasting performance. Featuring a 40% solids formula and 3:1 mixing ratio, this low VOC speed clear is perfect for spot repairs, single panels, or full resprays where turnaround time matters. Sand and buff in under 90 minutes with exceptional leveling and high-gloss retention that rivals full-production clears.

Formulated with advanced resins and UV stabilizers, Wetness 3140 delivers a water-clear finish with outstanding durability and depth of image (D.O.I.). Compatible with solvent-borne, waterborne basecoats, and 2K enamels, it’s built to perform in a variety of shop environments using the same catalyst system as our Ultimate 2145 Clear.

Suitable Substrates:

  • Solvent-borne Basecoat

Surface Prep:

  • Allow basecoat to fully dry before clear (per manufacturer recommendations)
  • In cooler temps (<70°F), extend dry time
  • Always tack surfaces before applying clear
  • If recoating after 24 hours, sand with 1000 grit

What size tip to spray clear coat?
This will depend upon the clear you're using. Most high solids clears, you'll want a 1.4. Medium solids you can use a 1.2 or 1.3. With our high solids clears you can use a 1.2, 1.3 or 1.4 without any issues.
