Deep Black Base Coat – Jet Black Perfection
Deep Black is our premium jet black basecoat, engineered specifically for custom painters who demand a true black with no compromises. Unlike many so-called “black” basecoats on the market that lean brown or carry a blue hue—like the commonly misnamed “tuxedo black”—our Deep Black is exactly what it claims: solid, rich, and neutral black. No tint. No undertones. Just jet black.
It’s also a favorite for drop shadows, airbrush artwork, and tinting taillight or headlight lenses. With its ultra-smooth finish and versatile mix ratio, this black base coat delivers incredible coverage and application control, whether you’re spraying full-size panels or detailing with an airbrush.
Application
Air Pressure
- 30 psi – Gravity Feed
- 40–50 psi – Siphon Feed
- 10 psi – HVLP (at cap)
Coats
- Apply 2–4 medium coats for full coverage
Flash Times
- 5–10 minutes between coats @ 70°F
- Wait 20 minutes before applying Wetness 4136 Clear Coat
