  1. I really like this paint. As with the cherry, I painted 2, 3 and 4 coats over white, gray and black. It’s very easy to spray in my LVLP gun.

Girls seem to like it over the white background…go figure, eh? That background makes the color too bright for me. It looks red from all angles, and in any light (indoors, outdoors, low light, direct sunlight, etc.)

Personally, I really like the 3 coats over gray. I think that I could get away with 2 coats actually over the gray, save some money too…but 3 is the best for me. 4 coats just made the color slightly darker. Any number of coats over gray looks great in the sun and from any angle. In low light, the color is still recognizable as red, it’s just a darker red, and the sparkles fade from view.

When painted over black, it actually looks pretty good! Even from angles other than head on. 2 coats shows too much of the base coat, so at least 3 are needed. When over black basecoat, the color appears darker, but the sparkles in the paint are more obvious. 4 coats over black is similar to 3, just slightly darker overall. In low light, it’s dark overall.

  2. 2 coats over white gave the coverage and effect I was looking for. Did mix it a little heavier than 1:1, closer to 1.5:1.

FAQs

FAQs

Can I get express or overnight shipping on paint?

Unfortunately, no—express or overnight shipping isn’t available for paint. Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations classify paint as hazardous materials (haz-mat) under Hazard Class 3 (flammable liquids). These classifications mandate that such products can only be shipped via ground transportation—not by air ICC Compliance Center Inc - USArila.org.

The rationale is simple: shipping flammable liquids such as paint via air carries elevated safety and regulatory risks—including fire hazards and complex emergency response needs. Ground transport minimizes these risks and remains the only compliant mode under DOT regulations FMCSArila.org.
