.008 Bombay Blue Metal Flake is a premium lapis blue flake that’s 30% thinner than standard .008” flakes—giving you superior coverage with less material. That means you’ll use less clear coat to bury it, saving time and money without sacrificing bold color or shine.

Made in the USA from ultra-reflective foil, each flake is precision cut and clear coated with a transparent layer, making it UV and solvent resistant. Unlike ordinary flakes, Bombay Blue is engineered to maintain its rich, reflective color under extreme conditions—resistant to temperatures up to 375°F without fading or discoloration. Ideal for automotive paint, powder coating, nail polish, and other custom applications.

Can you put metal flake in base coat?
You can, but it is not advised. If you're not using a .002" or .004" metal flake then you're going to create an issue where the base coat is very textured (orange peel). Since base coat is opaque (unable to see through), you're going to end up with metal flake that is hidden by the base coat. For maximum impact, it is best to spray metal flake over your base coat, before your clear.
Can you put metal flake in clear coat?
Yes you can. You just have to be more careful as you can run clear coat easier than you can run intercoat clear.
What do the sizes mean?

Line = 5 Gram Sample

8th = 2 oz = 56.7g (by weight)

Quarter = 4 oz = 113.4g (by weight)

Elbow = 1 lb = 453.6g
